Insurance Insurance offered to qualified NHMTA members* NHMTA offers several insurance programs to its qualified members. The following is an overview of these programs with links to webpages which describe the respective programs in more detail: NHMTA Employee Benefit Trust (EBT) Through the Association, members that qualify may join our self-funded healthcare program with Cigna. This is an excellent benefit program with very competitive rates. New Hampshire Motor Transport Association – Employee Benefit Trust (EBT) has been offering health care benefits since the late 1940’s, we have been self-funded since 1981. The Trust is self-funded, which means your premium dollars actually pay for the claims of your employees, not the profits of the insurance company. In July of 2002, the Trust partnered with CIGNA Healthcare to offer several of their plans. With these unique products from CIGNA, we have eliminated the confusing area of deductibles and co-insurance, plus you no longer need referrals from your Primary Care Physician (PCP) to see specialists. Finally the freedom to obtain care when you need it. EBT - Benefit Summary Sheets A Workers’ Compensation Program Provided by NHMTA Self Insurance Group Trust The Association has established a self-funded workers' compensation program. This is an opportunity for our qualified members to "control" their workers' compensation costs. If you are on the residual market, and are being assessed the surcharge, you can enter our program at the voluntary rates. THE PROGRAM NHMTA-Self Insurance Group Trust (Trust) originated in 1993 with 13 companies. Original members wanted to create a workers’ compensation program that stressed safety in the workplace yet provided some control over their premiums. Today we have 65 companies representing many sectors of industry including: beverage distribution, oil delivery, moving companies, general freight and waste haulers. Our fully-trained staff is well versed in the overall management of the Trust. PERSONALIZED SERVICE Members of the Trust have a dedicated service team who work hard to meet your needs. Our staff performs all aspects of administration for the Trust from issuing policies, marketing, sending certificates of insurance, financial accounting by fund year and coordinating with NCCI to promulgate company experience modification factors. We also assist with all aspects of managed care. Claims managers are available to answer any questions or concerns regarding your injured worker. LOSS PREVENTION Participating Trust members are required to comply with program provisions which include attending four quarterly meetings. These meetings are held in a location that is central to all members of the Trust. Topics include safety management, driver and highway safety, federal & state safety compliance, injury reduction, control and promotion of safe working practices. CLAIMS MANAGEMENT The Trust offers the most complete and experienced claims management in the state. First report of injury claims can be filed via fax or email. After receipt, we upload the required information to the NH Department of Labor. Our attention to aggressive claims management, workplace safety and a deeply discounted network of providers has proven successful in reducing the costs of claims. This saves our Trust members money over the fully insured market. For details on eligibility for this program, please contact Paula McLaughlin at 603-415-8312. Quotes are available upon request.
