Planned maintenance work on the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge in Portsmouth, NH – Kittery, ME will require the closure of the Piscataqua River to marine traffic for several hours on Wednesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 9, 2019.

NH DOT Detours and Closures

ROUTE 9 WESTBOUND  DETOUR IN HOPKINTON TO BEGIN APRIL 16TH
ALLOWING FOR WORK ON NH 9 BRIDGES OVER ELM BROOK AND CONTOOCOOK RIVER

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a planned westbound detour for traffic on NH Route 9 in Hopkinton is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. This detour is necessary to allow for preservation work on the NH Route 9/US 202 bridges over Elm Brook and the Contoocook River that are located between I-89 Exit 5 and NH Route 127.

Beginning April 16th, motorists seeking to travel west on NH 9/US 202 will be directed to Exit 6 and across NH 127 to return back to NH 9/US 202. This westbound detour is expected to be in place for about three months.

There will be no detour of NH 9/US 202 eastbound traffic.

The preservation work on both bridges includes replacement of the bridge deck pavements and membranes, deck repairs, replacement of expansion joints, and complete repainting of the structural steel.

NIGHTTIME CLOSURE OF OPEN ROAD TOLLING LANES ON I-95

ONE NIGHT OF MAINTENANCE WORK AT THE HAMPTON TOLLS

 

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces plans to close the northbound and southbound Open Road Toll lanes at the Hampton Toll Plaza on Interstate 95 for routine maintenance within the Open Road Toll (ORT) lanes.

The ORT lane closure is scheduled for the night of Tuesday, April 16 at 7:00 pm until 5:00 am on Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

All motorists will be guided via signs and traffic cones to the non-ORT portion of the Hampton Toll Plaza where they will process through either the dedicated E-ZPass lanes or cash lanes.
